ARCH Partnered with Local Church and Hart Motor Company for needed Mini Van
ROANOKE, VA (September 16, 2021) – Through a grant provided by Raleigh Court Presbyterian and a partnership with Hart Motor Company of Salem, ARCH has fulfilled a great need for our Trust House clients; safe and reliable transportation for recovery therapy meetings, medical appointments, job interviews and more.
Just before applying to Raleigh Court Presbyterian for grant funding In July, ARCH suffered the devastating loss of our Trust House transport van. The cost of repairs were greater than the vehicle was worth at the time. This vehicle was used for multiple purposes, including picking up donations, transporting clients, supporting clients with moves, delivering food and other donations directly to clients in housing, and other tasks as needed. Thankfully, Raleigh Court Presbyterian came through with funding in our time of desperate need.
“We are always looking for ways to help foster God’s work in our local and global community and we thank ARCH for all the good your organization is doing to serve our community,” read the announcement letter from Greg Shaff, treasurer of the Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church Endowment Board.
Immediately upon receiving funding, ARCH began meeting with Carl Hart, owner of Hart Motor Company in hopes of finding a pre-owned van in a volatile used car market. Hart was gracious enough to not only help ARCH find an affordable replacement in great condition, but to also provide a discount on the purchase price to ensure we were good stewards of Raleigh Court Presbyterian’s gift.
“We were ecstatic to be able to help such a wonderful organization find a suitable vehicle for their needs. We appreciate everything ARCH does for our community and its clients,” said Hart.
The van has already been put to good use with helping a veteran get to his medical appointment and picking up donations for all ARCH clients. Annie Harvey, executive director of ARCH, said it couldn’t have come at a better time.
“We are so grateful to have the support of Raleigh Court Presbyterian and Hart Motor Company, especially during these challenging times,” said Annie Harvey, executive director of ARCH. “We were in need and it’s such an honor to have community partners that offer to help despite the demands they may also be currently facing.”
